Hey Andrew,

This is a Penny produced by the British between 1806 and 1807, and yours is in amazing condition, which gives me the impression it may not be genuine. If it is in fact genuine. Do not clean it!. My value provided will be for a Genuine coin, so you may want to get yours apparaised by a professional aswell, depending on the value I provide.

My Expertise is in American Coins so I will also get Paul to take alook at this. Because the value vary from the type of coin. I did find one of these for sale at a price of $275.00 however. Another selling for $110, another for $15, and finally one for $850. So, it looks like you may have a keeper. Im going to tell paul to take a look at this, since he is the expert and he can give you a better estimate. He'll most likely take a peek tomorrow.

Nice coin, asteele3. It looks genuine to me. The latest 'standard catalog' lists one in VF at $10 US dollars, climbing to $75 in XF. My guess at grade would be between these two. There is one quite like it on eBay here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/NICE-ENGLISH-1806-GEORGE-III-COPPER-PENNY-c-/330585075770?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4cf867f03a

Figuring it might sell retail on eBay for $25 to $30, I'd offer $15 to buy it from you outright. Alternately I can auction it for you for my 30% fee. These parameters should give you a decent idea of value.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the heads up (do you get it?)

I have no intention of cleaning it as it's already in pretty good condition!

I've also got a 1731 coin which I will need a valuation on. I will think about the coin for now and see what I reckon. Although I got this from my dad's coin collection and I don't think he wants to sell it Mad

Oh well, I'll see what other coins I have (well, my dad) and will put them on here. I guess the older the coin e.g. 1800 and less will be worth more value?

Anyway, cheers for the valuation, never knew it was worth anything!

Watch the eBay auction. There is a mammoth collector base at eBay, so coins reach fair market value.

Asteele, Feel Free to add more coins here for us to value over time if you like. My personal advice would be to keep the coin, it'll raise in value over time!
