Help me figure out what this coin is please?

My husband recieved this coin and I can not figure out what it is or the value of it is. Can someone please help me out? I have taken this coin over to a coin collector and they do not have an ideas to what it may be. I think it may be turkish but coins that are turkish are made in gold, and the collector said this is not gold. The turkish kurush 1500 has the closest markings to my coin, but instead of my coin having one star represented at the top, it has 3 stars surrounded by laurel wreath. Thank You

Turkey was the center of the old Ottomon Empire, and their inscriptions and patterns pervade the modern-day countries that once were part of that Empire.
